Black Beauty<\/strong> is a moving autobiography of a black horse who lived during 19th century England. After spending a pleasant childhood with a loving owner, he has to live with several owners. Some are caring, others harsh and ignorant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this emotional book, Anna Sewell<\/strong> illustrates both the kind and the unfair treatments horses receive. She tries to raise awareness of the love and respect all animals deserve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some years after the Black Beauty was published, it helped to reduce severe treatments towards animals, in a period when using horses for work and pleasure became more and more popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aimed at young readers, this book inspires kindness and empathy towards animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personal Comments on Black Beauty<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I remember reading the Spanish version of this book (Azabache<\/em>) some years ago with my father. What struck me the most about it was the harshness of some people towards animals. I felt for the poor horse and was relieved when he was passed into good hands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there’s something I learned reading this book, it is that one must always be kind and work hard despite the circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
